Hindustan Motors One of the first three car manufacturers in India, founded in 1942, the company was the largest car manufacturer in India until Maruti Udyog was born in 1980s. The legendary Hindustan Ambassador was the best car which suited both urban and non-urban drives, with a strong chasis and a body built to sustain the rough roads, it was a huge success and dominated our roads during its era. Hindustan motors has since evolved and forayed into multiple areas. A number of joint ventures has seen the company grow in the post liberalisation period.
