Mercedes Mercedes-Benz India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, earlier known as Daimler-Chrysler. The company used to be the top selling premium car brand in the country, before recently being overtaken by BMW. Mercedes-Benz India Ltd was set up in 1994. Interestingly, the company was once renamed DaimlerChrysler India Private Ltd after the merger of parent company Daimler with Chrysler. The name was changed to Mercedes-Benz India once again when Daimler sold off its stakes in Chrysler in 2007. |
