Toyota Motor Corporation and Kirloskar Group joined hands to form Toyota Kirloskar Motor to manufacture and sell cars in India in 1997. TKMPL's currently has its plant at Bangalore, Karnataka with a capacity of 80,000 vehicles per annum. A new plant is coming up at the venue to provide for the anticipated volumes with the upcoming Etios small car. Toyota has tasted success in India with its robustly built mainstream cars like the Innova and the Corolla and is equally well known for its premium offerings like the Camry and the Land Cruiser Prado. |
