Hyundai have launched their most important car of the year "Xcent" - a compact sedan that will now take direct competition with the Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze.
Hyundai Xcent has been launched at a time when the market is just turning upward with more sales expected this year. The timing has been crucial for Hyundai and they couldnt have delayed it any further.
The car is available in both Petrol and Diesel variants, with an Automatic option in its Petrol variant. The engines are a coming from the proven stack with enough power for the car. The Petrol engine is a 4 cylinder 1.2 litre mill delivering 83 bhp with ARAI mileage rated at 19.1 kmpl. The Diesel engine is a 3 cylinder 1.1 litre CRDi unit producing a decent 72 bhp with ARAI mileage rated at 24.4 kmpl. Both variants are available in 3 variants Base, S and SX. You can check detailed specs in our new car section.
The car price starts from 4.6 lakhs ex-showroom in Delhi. The petrol automatic starts at 6.28 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. It is well priced to take on the compact sedan segment by storm. You can expect to see more of these on the road, however, while we are unable to speculate a winner in this segment, the Honda and Maruti hold on to their space and continue to give a strong fight.
