In 2005, Fiesta, was launched in India by Ford. This sedan was designed exclusively for the Indian roads and Indian market. The head room and the leg room are very comfortable in the front as well as at the back. The entry and exit are more convenient in the front when compared to the rear. The Fiesta Duratec 1.6 SXI, Fiesta Duratec 1.6 ZXI and 1.6 S come with a 1.6L In-line 4 cylinder 16Valve, 101ps@6500rpm engine with a 146 nm of torque at only 3400rpm. The Fiesta 1.4 TDCi ZXI is powered by a 1.4L 8 Valve, 67 bhp engine that pumps out 160 nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard across all trims.
Fiesta’s diesel engine, a 1.4 CRDI (common rail direct injection), is one of the most drivable in its class. The proprietary TDCi Duratorq engine is a high pressure common rail system- along with a tiny pilot injection system which injects diesel giving a small early burn that smoothes the big bang. In spite of having good performance to back it up the Ford engines are not heavy on the pocket.
